LCA of end-of-life tyres: the “Reference document”

Following on from the public presentation of the Life Cycle Assessment for 9 recovery methods for end-of-life tyres, Aliapur has published the Reference document for this LCA. In addition, the environmental advantages of several recovery methods have been established.

The French leader in sales of new tyres has recently signed a contract with Aliapur. This contract will officially become effective on January 1, 2011, but Aliapur has committed as from July 1 to ensure the collection of used tyres deposited at Allopneus garages.

Collection crisis: An agreement for emergency measures for 10,000 tons

Starting from 17 May, Aliapur will collect 10,000 tons of used tyres in excess of the orders it has (1.4 million car tyres) as a means of easing pressure on points of sale. The State Department has promised to implement controls and sanctions.

The LCA of used tyres: significant advantages for the environment
