Since 2013, Aliapur has sent each professional whose tyres have been collected at least once a year its environmental savings certificate, which quantifies the natural resources saved thanks to this collection
18 January, all professionals who have had tyres collected at least once by Aliapur collectors in 2020 will have access to their annual Environmental Savings Certificate, available for download from their Aliabase account.
This Certificate converts the total weight of the tyres collected over the year into environmental benefits. To do so, we use the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for end-of-life tyres carried out for us by consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers. The LCA makes it possible to quantify the savings made in energy and natural resources by using products obtained from tyres instead of the materials used habitually in the manufacture of new products.
For the Environmental Certificates, we have chosen to retain the three most emblematic indicators of the 8 presented in the LCA, and to convert them into measurement units from everyday life. Thus “primary” energy consumption has been formulated in terms of electricity (kWh); consumption of “non-renewable resources” has been calculated in equivalent litres of fuel; and finally, water consumption has been converted into litres.
All these benefits for the environment would be meaningless without the tyres collected from those who stock tyres. They are the first link in the Aliapur chain. Since 2013, we are delighted to have been able to measure the environmental benefits made every year thanks to them.
