Aliapur’s statutes include a rotating presidency chosen from the tyre manufacturing shareholders. On 19 June, Thierry Martin-Lassagne, the Director for Public Affairs France at Michelin, thus handed over the reins to Laurent Cabassu, the General Manager Western Europe for Pirelli, who becomes the new President of the Board of Directors for a term of 18 months.
Laurent Cabassu, 41, joined Pirelli in 2002. Until 2009, he occupied several management positions with increasing responsibilities in the sectors of sales and marketing, covering first France and then Europe, before becoming Key Accounts Manager, and then Director of Marketing and Communication. He was Commercial Director France until 2013, Director General Pirelli France until 2017, and Director General Pirelli Pacific until 2018. That was the year that he became Senior Vice-President Global Director Strategic Marketing. In 2019, he became Head of Sales Europe, before being promoted to General Manager Western Europe this year.
“I applaud the trust-based relationships that the sector has established with its stakeholders, the State first and foremost. I am also aware of the unwavering efforts that everyone concerned at Aliapur has made in the face of the challenges that will have a lasting impact on our activity. We are entering an intense, and no doubt delicate, period, but I remain confident”, pointed out the new President of the Board of Directors. Laurent Cabassu also thanked his predecessor, Thierry Martin-Lassagne, who remained very present for the team throughout his term as President.
